Fish experience stress through handling, transport, confinement, temperature swings, oxygen fluctuation, and poor water quality. These stressors trigger a cascade of physiological breakdowns including electrolyte loss, immune suppression, gill damage, and degradation of the protective slime coat. Once this chain reaction begins, fish become highly vulnerable to fungal growth, bacterial infection, and delayed mortality. Our work begins by interrupting that cascade at its source.
